In September people from all corners of the Moffats community - families, past pupils, staff, friends, and their friends - came together to help the School celebrate a history that stretches back to 1934.
The fine Georgian reception rooms of Kinlet Hall and a marquee on the West Front provided space for a live jazz reception followed by a sumptuous banquet, dancing to a live band, a lounge singer and a magic show. A promises auction raised over £10,000 towards a new IT suite, with even a couple of old school desks fetching £300, thanks to the persuasive charm of the professional auctioneer and the generosity of the bidder!
As reminder of the reason for the Ball, a rolling slide show in the Drawing Room projected eight decades of images from the school’s past, from its foundation in Brookman’s Park, Hertfordshire, through the war years at Lifton Park, Devon, and into the long era at Kinlet, which is itself heading towards a 70th anniversary in 2016.
The Ball and the associated fundraising were generously supported through donations of money, supplies, services and free time from many individuals and local businesses.
