Children enjoy music, drama and poetry at Moffats in many ways. They are given the opportunity to begin performing in the encouraging environment of the school itself, before moving on to appear in front of wider audiences that include parents, friends and members of the local community.

Music and the arts are important elements of life at Moffats – we nurture performance from the earliest stages.Children learn how to work together to deliver public performances through regular concerts, drama productions and events such as the annual Carol Service, held in our beautiful parish church.
Music occupies an important place in daily life, for everybody. Our aim is to develop in every child a capacity to enjoy music as a listener and as a performer. The Moffats Music Club gives a termly concert for pupils and staff only, and there is an annual summer concert for parents and friends.
Essential skills that will last a lifetimeMany of our pupils take individual lessons on piano, strings, brass and woodwind, and Senior and Junior choirs rehearse regularly, lead the singing in our parish church and perform in regular concerts.
Dance lessons in ballet, tap and modern are popular options, while drama is a a cherised tradition at Moffats. Natalie Joan Engleheart, the founder of the school, was a noted children’s author in her day. She wrote a cycle of plays just for Moffats children to perform. Poetry and prose reading aloud are essential parts of school work, art lessons are given to all children.
