Another top day at OVAC

Weekend boarders return to Stottesdon for climbing and abseiling

A bright, warm Saturday morning in October saw the Moffats weekend boarders head out in minibus and car to the Old Vicarage Activity Centre for a morning on the Climbing Wall.

We were greeted by Nigel and Tom, our instructors for the activities. Nigel took charge of the abseiling, whilst Tom belayed on the climbing.

Having been split into two groups, the more experienced half were taken off by Mr Daborn to a nearby stream to enjoy a round of Pooh-sticks, whilst the newcomers had first essay of the wall.

EmilyHarnesses and helmets were donned as each took turns to climb and abseil. And Emily (pictured left) showed that size is no obstacle to climbing successfully! Indeed Tom commented that she was one of the most nimble.

Tegan

The older group returned for their turn on the wall. Mr Paul was impressed to see how many of these showed improved confidence and skill on the wall from our last visit over a year ago - amongst them Tegan, pictured right. Tom and Nigel meanwhile were impressed too - not least with the children's listening skills.

Meanwhile Mems was very vocal on her abseil...
