Little Moffats children use main school facilities such as the computer suite

Children from Little Moffats have their own areas in the school and in the grounds, but they are part of the whole school.

They have access to the facilities of the main school, such as the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) suite and music rooms.

Little Moffats

Little Moffats prepares children for Moffats main school, welcoming children between the ages of four and seven. The uniquely attentive atmosphere forms very good learning habits in young children.

Little Moffats is not a play school, but is very much the junior section of Moffats. It is closely integrated with the main school.

Little Moffats children make the most of the school's wonderful grounds

Little Moffats welcomes children from the age of three to seven years, and is much more than a play school. Pupils are encouraged to achieve and to be proud of achieving.

The Little Moffats Curriculum

Little Moffats seeks to introduce young children to elements of the curriculum used in the main school through activities and lessons that stimulate their interest.

Skills in reading, writing and working with numbers are developed, and each child is gently helped to adjust to school life, to enjoy widening horizons and to discover new interests and skills.

Individual music lessons, riding, ballet, tap and modern dance, and craft are among the popular optional extras on offer at Little Moffats.

The Little Moffats School Day

The Little Moffats day runs from 9.00am to 3.30pm, but not all children are old enough or ready to complete a full day.
Part-time options are available: some children start at Little Moffats by coming for mornings only, from 9.00am to 12.30pm.
After-school care is available every school day; other supervised care before or after school can easily be arranged and most individual requirements met.

Preparing for ‘big school’

The transition between Little Moffats and the main school is seamless, not least because Little Moffats pupils have access to the facilities of the main school for certain activities, and are regularly introduced to life in the main school.

At Little Moffats there is the option of joining in sport and activities with the smaller children from the main school. The youngest form at the main school joins the Little Moffats children in the school dining room.
