I have spent a fair bit of the Easter break learning how to use a rowing machine effectively, it has been a difficult task but I have been building up slowly and finding that this challenge will need a different type of fitness. By my estimate the distance of 21 miles I need to travel should take around 3 hours of steady rowing, at the moment I have managed a few rows of near 2 hours.
This challenge I have found tests my shoulders, arms, and back to the limit, so I have been also exercising these parts of the body separately. I think I have around a week and a half before attempting this challenge, so still time to build up the extra fitness I will need.
